Finally it begins to warm up in Idaho. I've planted some yellow crook neck squash and zuchini in pots.. also two tomato plants. So far they are doing pretty well. It feels good to be still, seeking Him, finding Him, spending time with Him, listening to Him.
Last Saturday was a Ladies bruncheon at church. I met some more women. One inparticular. She is a true widow AND an inspiration to me. She is un-asumming, loving the Lord in meekness.
She tells of her stroke, heart surgeries, coma, loss of memory, and finally loss of her husband of 46 years, (maybe 47 can't recall). She talks about the lonliness and so she got a little brown puppy, Coco, who is now 7 years old.
She tells me of going to Curves every morning, walking every afternoon with Coco, for aprox 2 miles. She told me she has lost over 100 lbs this past year. the Dr told her that she needed heart surgery, but the specialist would not do the surgery, he told her to go get her affairs in order, she had 6 months to live. That promted her to begin to change her eating habits, and exercise also.
This lady is such a blessing to know. By her being true to God, seeking Him, acknowledging Him as her source of healing. Yes, the Dr's can no longer find anything wrong with her heart. Her diabetes is gone, and so is her high blood pressure. I thought I was going to spend time with her, so she would 'feel' better. HA, not so. I spend time with her, and "I" feel better. She encourages me, and inspires me.
Interesting how the Lord brings people into our lives that touch us so deeply. I continue to be amazed at how comfortable I am here in Idaho. The church has reached out to me and I feel welcome. But, the lesson is this; "I" had to take the step out, go to the church, actively 'choose' to participate and get to know people. It is an act of 'moving' forward, taking a step, ha, another one, out of my comfort zone. but, why should it be uncomfortable?? These are brothers and sisters in the Lord, or others SEEKING to know the Lord.
I am very exciting to be coming back to NC soon and seeing everyone! I can't believe 8 months has passed since I first started this blog and preparing 'to go' to Guatemala. How the Lord has worked in my life, my mind, and soul. I am so thankful for the closer walk I have with Him now. Thank you to all my brothers and sisters in the Lord that have been so supportive and also lifting me up in prayer.
I am continuing to learn about obidience and the concisquences of DIS-obiedience. The stirring of the Lords anger. I just finished reading Joshua, and am now about mid way through the third chapter of Judges...WOW... The Lords anger was stirred up HOT against them!!! EEEKKK
Jdg 3:4 NKJV - And they were [left, that He might] test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the LORD, which He had commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.
Jdg 3:5 NKJV - Thus the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Jdg 3:6 NKJV - And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons; and they served their gods.Jdg 3:7 NKJV - So the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD. They forgot the LORD their God, and served the Baals and Asherahs.
Jdg 3:8 NKJV - Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years.
God gives us commandments so that we will have a better life, not to 'take things away', but rather to teach us to love, to know Him.
The children of Israel disobeyed God and did evil in His sight. They suffered the consequences of God's 'hot anger' against them. but the good news follows:
Jdg 3:9 NKJV - When the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
Jdg 3:10 NKJV - The Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the LORD delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim.
Jdg 3:11 NKJV - So the land had rest for forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
So, God then had mercy on Israel, He loves them, desired they would be obidient to Him. That they would CHOOSE to be obidient. God disiplines those He loves, just as we disipline our children. It is out of love we correct them and hopefully turn them in the right direction, away from harmful situations or things.
Follow the Lord, Be blessed in His precense; Amen,
Deu 31:6 NKJV - "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He [is] the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."
