These last few days and weeks, the Lord has been teaching me, stretching me. (sometimes quite painfully) and opening my eyes to more understanding. Sometimes it is not pleasant to 'see me' as He sees me. He allows me to see in order to repent. To let go of.......myself. Oh Lord, I am willing to let go of myself and serve YOU. I THANK the Lord for revealing Himself more and more to me.
God continues to show me, this life is but a vapor. Here today, gone tomorrow.
James 4:14 "whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away".
We are commissioned "to go" to spread the Word of Life. There are so many that do not see, do not know there is more to this life than what we see and feel.
The Lord leads us out of bondage, into His grace.. into His provision
The Lord led His people out of Egypt, into the wilderness. He gave His people the 10 commandments, not to restrict them, but to guide them, for their good, not to harm them.
Exodus 20:1-20
And God spoke all these words, saying:
"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
"You shall have no other gods before Me.
"You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
"You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
"You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
"You shall not murder.
"You shall not commit adultery.
"You shall not steal.
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's."
Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.
Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die."
And Moses said to the people, "Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin."
The Lord led His people for forty years to teach them to trust Him, depend on Him. They were on a pilgrimage to 'the promised land'.... This life we live is also a pilgrimage .. this is not our homeland, we are travelers, on our way to be with the Lord in the promised land~ heaven.
If we seek Him, (read the Bible, it's our road map) He provides for ALL we NEED. Not necessarily what we want. He provided for His people for forty years, they had no need of new shoes, clothes, food, water, shelter because the Lord provided ALL they needed.
Think of it, their shoes did not wear out. There clothing did not fall apart. Food fell from the sky, enough for the day. A rock provided water. A fire gave them light, heat and protected them. All the while, the people complained that they were better off 'before' ~ living in bondage!
John 4:35
"Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
Everyday the Lord gives us new opportunities to serve and honor Him and to share the gospel of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ. Everyday is a NEW day~ do not allow the devil to deceive you into thinking that you can not serve Him due to 'blowing it' ~ repent, turn away from _______ (fill in the blank) and serve Him who gives life everlasting!~
May our Lord and Savior Bless you as you seek Him~
In His grace;
Kim
