dear brothers and sisters in Christ;

The Lord has been so good to me. Providing sponsorships for the missions trip to Guatemala in Aug. The Lord told me about 3 months ago; 'you do not know the plans I have for you'....... wow.....

He continues to SHOW ME that He is the ONE.... the one who makes provision for ALL things concerning me.  He is so incredibly good to me, even in my discipline.. Yes, I get disciplined, not always pleasant, but for my good.  He also reveals myself, to ME.  (yuck)  I can not hide from me or Him. Now I know that I can indeed trust Him, it becomes easier and easier to be honest with myself and Him.  He sees the me, when I am alone. That is the me that He is teaching, so that when I am with others, I look more and more like Him and less and less like 'me'.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress...To provide aid to orphanages in Guatemala, with the vision to expand to other Latin American countries. By supplying physical necessities and volunteers, to help with the care of the orphans, involving work teams to improve the facilities so that the lives of the orphans can be improved for as long as they stay. And help reduce the burden on the directors by supplying the needs of the orphanage.

To break the cycle of poverty, abandonment and despair, by providing spiritual, vocational and personal development training so that the children may learn and fulfill the purpose that God has for their lives.

How Do We Do This:

One of the ways we show them our love is by improving their living conditions at the orphanages. We take food, clothes, toys, and work crews into the orphanages to do construction and remodeling projects and also make sure we have time to give plenty of love. We also wish to make people aware that the greatest need these children have is a place to call home and the love of a family. Currently our organization is only working in Guatemala, but the needs of just this one country are staggering. The number of orphans grows daily. Please pray for these children and our organization as we try to reach out to their needs.

And this is the reason I am led 'to go'.... to serve the children that are abandoned and left to their own resources for survival in this world.

For those of you that do not know; I work in a skilled nursing facility.  Daily I am blessed by the widows and elderly I serve.  I do activities with the residents. Many are so thankful for as little as 5 minutes of my time.  (very humbling) These people have lived lives that are amazing, and yet they are now alone. Many are left for others to care for, no visits from children, family or friends. Some have outlived others in their lives.  Again, to spend time reading with a person for 15 or 20 minutes is so little to give, yet means so much to them.

I think of the children,  here in the USA, we have many with no  homes. But there are resourses here and I pray are available to help them. There are many children in other countries and their stories break my heart as well.  Just think how our Lords heart breaks as we, His body, do not take care of the widows and orphans as we should.

In many ways, the fields of harvest are ripe. by showing love and compassion in His name, many will be won for the kingdom of God for He is love.

God is so very good to me and has blessed me so abundantly. I choose this day to serve Him and give Him my life today, and each day I take in air to breath.

I am so thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ. For the love and support of my home church.
