update on my travel to CO

I have adapted to the high elevation, 10,200 ft above sea level!  Drinking LOTS of water helps. :)

Before leaving NC I had new brakes put on the front of my car. They were sqeaking a little so I called the shop that did the work.  The owner told me not to worry about it, and when I returned from 'vacation' to bring it by and he would check it out.
WELL~
My car has been parked since I arrived in CO.  I was traveling at a speed of MAYBE 20 MPH in a residential neighborhood about a block from my daughters home, when I  applied the brakes to stop at a stop sign, there was gravel/dirt in the road, my brakes locked up and I slid into the intersection about 2-3 ft!  So, my car has been parked since then due to the trailer with bike still being attached to my car... due to SNOW! Until today, I finally was able to unload the bike and clean all the travel dirt off of it. (then it started snowing AGAIN) thank God it is light snow.

God is sooo good. While driving here He held the weather off of me and gave me safe travel. Now I appreciate Him even more~ as I inspected my car I notice that the front drivers side wheel is missing a lugnut and one lugnut is different than my originals. NOT GOOD.
So after unloading my bike, I took the car for a drive around 2 blocks. The brakes are extremely stiff and not stopping the vehicle unless pressed almost all the way to the floor. This is different than they have ever been. God prevented a tragedy while I drove across country. THANK YOU LORD.
Tomarrow I will take it to a shop and have it fixed~ the right way.

God is my refuge and my strength, in Him I will trust.

{2Sa 22:3 NKJV} - The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence.

{2Sa 22:31 NKJV} - [As for] God, His way [is] perfect; The word of the LORD [is] proven; He [is] a shield to all who trust in Him.

{Psa 9:10 NKJV} - And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

God is my shield and my protection.

{2Sa 22:31 NKJV} - [As for] God, His way [is] perfect; The word of the LORD [is] proven; He [is] a shield to all who trust in Him.

{Psa 3:3 NKJV} - But You, O LORD, [are] a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

{Psa 5:12 NKJV} - For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as [with] a shield

{Psa 18:30 NKJV} - [As for] God, His way [is] perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He [is] a shield to all who trust in Him.

I have also been learning more about resting IN Him, allowing Him to work in and through me~ To trust Him at ALL times. He makes a way when there does not seem to be one.

{Psa 150:6 NKJV} - Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
in His grace;

Gods provision

My travel west was amazing. I am always 'more' amazed at how great God IS. Yet, why am I so amazed?? He IS God. haha~ my simple little mind just gets blown away as if it were something new!

I left NC heading west, Each day I heard of how the weather was supose to be bad. God kept me on DRY roads, seldom with cars around me. It was as if I was in a small bubble and no other cars or people could get to me. :)  There were times when going through the cities that there was a lot of traffic. There were a couple 'close' calls~ but God's grace protected me. (thank you to ALL who have been praying for me) I definetely felt the prayers of protection.

God has been showing me, and talking with me, that HE is in control. That He will provide a path even when there does not seem to be one. He is MY protector.
{Hbr 4:16 NKJV} - Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
When there are troubled times, the question is not 'how can God help me' but rather, "How can this situation bring Glory to God"-  it's not about me. It's not about you. It's ALL about our great God, the one true living God that is loving and JUST.  He is the potter, I am the clay. The potter can do with the pot what ever He wishes.

{Isa 29:16 NKJV} - Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, "He did not make me"? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, "He has no understanding"?

{Isa 64:8 NKJV} - But now, O LORD, You [are] our Father; We [are] the clay, and You our potter; And all we [are] the work of Your hand.

{Jer 18:6 NKJV} - "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?" says the LORD. "Look, as the clay [is] in the potter's hand, so [are] you in My hand, O house of Israel!

{Rom 9:21 NKJV} - Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

When I started out driving west, in the very first hour there was 'an issue' with another driver, I began to get upset, and immediately this thought went through my mind; "are you going to allow anger to ruin your drive west?" I repented, and had no further 'driving issues' you know, 'road rage' against another driver.  God gave me His peace for which I am thankful.

Typically when I am over tired, or drive long distances, I get a migraine. the really bad kind. But thanks to your prayers, I didn't get a bad migraine. God revealed to me how I drove caused me to get tight muscles on the right side of my body. (shoulder, neck) So becoming aware of this, I changed how I drove. I also was able to get a inexpensive place to stay one night that had a jacuzzi and indoor pool. haha, I was the only one using them. It felt wonderful to swim some laps, then sit in the jacuzzi. I was relaxed and slept well that night. NO headache or migraine in the morning.

The next day there was supose to be terrible rain with hail. But it was above and below the interstate I was on. PRAISE GOD. Then there was supose to be SNOW once I got into CO. PRAISE GOD, it did not snow nor was there any on the roads!  I arrived and surprised the boys. There is nothing like your grandsons running up and hugging you! totally made the 3 days of driving worth every minute.

I woke up the next morning here in CO to SNOW all over. I was (and am still) praising God for His provision, His protection. That He held off the snow until I arrived.
Each night it has snowed, then melts away by mid-day. Although now it is snowing and supose to continue until Monday.
The cool part is I will get to see Spring twice this year! :)  How glorious is that? to see everything come to life (in two different parts of the country) after sleeping throught the winter months.

I had business cards printed with MISSIONS FOR HIM blog address and was able to pass some out along the drive here. There were some very sweet people that were kind to me along the way. To them also I say: 'thank you'.  A simple act of kindness goes ALONG WAY in making the day brighter.

Please be in prayer for:
  • the children of Guatemala and Africa, and the orphanages providing care to them.
  • the salvation of the un-saved, both here and in other countries.
  • our USA and our government
  • God to continue teaching me and leading along HIS path for this life He's given me.
{Psa 69:13 NKJV} - But as for me, my prayer [is] to You, O LORD, [in] the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.
{Psa 100:4 NKJV} - Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, [And] into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, [and] bless His name.

{Col 3:15 NKJV} - And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful
{2Jo 1:3 NKJV} - Grace, mercy, [and] peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Traveling

I have completed 2 days of driving. The Lord has shown me His mercy and grace.  He has provided me travel protection. I feel as though I have been in a little bubble. haha~ I have a space before me, and a space behind me. It is a very cool feeling.  :)

Day 1: was long. Good weather. I had a cooler with water, apple juice, bread, lunchmeat/cheese....and a jar of p-nut butter. All anyone could want for snacks. Listening to some Christian music, the day went well.  Although I did view a terrible accident, yet I saw a woman standing by talking to a police man, and no ambulance. It was God's grace she was not injured and standing there at all. I could not make out what she had been driving. It was so flat and upside down, that it probably only came as high as my hip!!  Praise God for His loving kindness toward this woman and her family. (dont you know they would have been freaked out if they knew)
I stayed at the motel I had stayed at last year- in Mt. Vernon just before entering St. Louis, MO.

Day 2: dark sky all day.  Severe weather forcast for the day with large hail storm and heavy rain due to hit in afternoon. Coming from West to East.  GREAT, I'm traveling East to West so our paths should cross! Well, it didn't.  It continued to be very dark clouds at times, then lighten up some, I think I drove in a mist maybe 5 minutes the whole day.  It did get windy at times, but nothing to bad. haha, just slowed down a bit so trailer wouldn't sway. Although there were acouple close calls. One was me changing into the lane to my right, no-one there, (lots of traffic at this point) so I start to merge left, as I enter the lane, RIGHT ON MY TRAILER is a HUGE TRUCK! ugghhh- He must have merged to his left at the exact same time! PRAISE GOD the truck driver did not hit my trailer.

I was almost to my stopping destination for the day, when I heard on the radio, that 2 (two) tornado's had touched down near St. Louis, MO!  The storm had PASSED RIGHT OVER ME!  WOW!
I found a motel with a jacuzzi and indoor pool~ and right next door is a Wendy's.  haha how much better can it get? (ok ok, an In-N-Out Burger) (for my Eastern USA friends, that's the BEST hamburger place in CA & NV) but still, this is good.  Every resturant and Hotel I've eaten at or stayed at has been friendly... even at the gas stations. Clean facilities. Like I said, I've been blessed to receive His mercy and grace (everyday) but especially these past two days.

Tomarrow fortells SNOW toward the end of my day.  I feel a sense of peace. I do not know what the day will bring, as I never do. But, I do not feel anxious about the weather. I know my God is with me. He is my protector and anything that I go through, He is with me.  I do not "have" to be there at any specific time, so I do not 'have' to push my way there. I can get a place close to storm, but not quite in it... LOL... look at me trying 'to figure it out'... when I just said, I do not know what the day brings.  How foolish to waste my time debating the what if's.... precious time is wasted doing it.  Not just now, but in everyday life. Worrying? I can change nothing- certainly not the weather.
I do however, accept continued prayer from my brothers and sisters in Christ for travel mercies.  I believe prayer does make a difference- I have felt the power of prayer since leaving NC.

{Gen 6:8 NKJV} - But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
He gave me grace, just as He gave Noah grace ~ (He saved Noah's life, and today He saved mine)

{Gen 19:19 NKJV} - "Indeed now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have increased your mercy which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, lest some evil overtake me and I die.
The Lord IS good. He IS light, in Him there is NO darkness at all.  He IS truth. His truth shall set you free.

{Isa 50:10 NKJV} - "Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD And rely upon his God.

{1Jo 1:5 NKJV} - This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
{Jhn 8:32 NKJV} - "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

{Jhn 14:6 NKJV} - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
{Jhn 3:16 NKJV} - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

{Jhn 3:17 NKJV} - "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
He saved my soul, and today He saved this life He gave me. Thank you Jesus my Lord, for your loving kindness toward me.

Time to rest. (again)

Grace, peace and mercy be with each person who reads this blog;
In Jesus name, Amen

on the road

I am heading out West tomarrow morning. I am driving, so please be in prayer for travel mercies.
I am excited to see what and HOW the Lord works in my life.  It is difficult to leave my home, friends and church family.  But I know it is time for me to take that preverbial step 'out of the boat' so the Lord CAN work in my life. If I stay in the boat, within the safety zone I now live, how will I ever experience HIM in all He can do, according to HIS will, ha, not mine.  I desire to serve Him. To go where ever He leads me. So; I must take the step so He can direct me.

I am Praising God that He is providing the sponsorship(s) for the Missions Trip to Guatemala in Aug. Any monies past what is necessary, will go toward the orphanage that I'll be working at.  They can use it for a number of things, beds, food, blankets, etc. It will be up to them.  I'm not sure yet if I can take my laptop with me. I'd like to so I can provide DAILY updates and pics.
Please be in prayer that I will be receptive to His direction for this life He has given me.  If I should go back to Guatemala again for a longer period of time. haha~ yeah yeah, I'll just go this first time and THEN see~  :)
Right now, all I know is I am heading outwest to be with family before I go in Aug. After that, I do not have a plan. Except to return to NC to give a presentation of my missions experience to my  church family that has been so supportive.

I am truely a blessed woman.  Thank you Lord for your loving kindness.
The Lord has been working in my heart to be more receptive to His quiet voice.  It is VITAL to read His Word DAILY and PRAY daily.  Seek and you WILL find. Be still and you WILL hear. :)

Dear Lord,
I ask in Jesus Holy name, that you would be with each person that reads this. That you would meet them right where they are RIGHT NOW, make your face to shine upon them, that they would feel your Holy precense, and KNOW that you ARE the one true living God.  Amen

{Jer 10:10 NKJV} - But the LORD [is] the true God; He [is] the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

{Jhn 3:17 NKJV} - "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

{Deu 31:6 NKJV} - "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He [is] the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."

{Jos 1:9 NKJV} - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God [is] with you wherever you go."

{2Sa 10:12 NKJV} - "Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do [what is] good in His sight."

{1Ch 28:20 NKJV} - And David said to his son Solomon, "Be strong and of good courage, and do [it]; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God--my God--[will be] with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

PRAISE GOD IN THE HIGHEST! {Psa 27:1 NKJV} - [A Psalm] of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD [is] the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

{2Pe 3:9 NKJV} - The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

{2Pe 3:9 NKJV} - The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

{2Pe 3:18 NKJV} - but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him [be] the glory both now and forever. Amen.

In His grace;
Kim
PS:   Food for thought:
If you have a BEST FRIEND,  someone you love; don't you WANT to talk to that person daily? Don't you WANT to tell them ALL about your day, your feelings, EVERYTHING?  You also WANT to KNOW ALL about their day, you KNOW their characteristics, their personality, you KNOW how they would deal with situations.... because you talk with them, spend time with them, you love them. They ARE your best friends.  right??????
Well, JESUS WANTS TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND, HE WANTS YOU TO SPEND TIME WITH HIM, GET TO KNOW HIM, not about Him.  You know about 'mcdonalds, burger king' but you do not know 'them' correct?? you know about God, but do you KNOW HIM?

The ant community

The Lord has been speaking to me; showing me, teaching me, about HIS love.  For years now, I have been a born again Christian, and have KNOWN His love. He has showed me in many ways, besides what He TELLS me in His Word.  Yet, I have not comprehended the FULLNESS of His love, and what that MEANS, and probably I still do not get all it completely... more to be revealed I am sure. BUT, I do 'get it' much more now... PRAISE HIS NAME!

This morning I was thinking just 'how big our God is' ~ and yet I still do not comprehend in fullness of just how BIG He is!  The Lord shows me in very simple terms, so bear with me as I describe my understanding.

As I stood, (5'9") looking down at the ground.  There is an ant. (yes an ant) I thought of the ant, his completeness, his little body works wonderfully, The Lord made the ant.  Now, as an image, think of people as the ant, and the human as the Lord. WOW... think of the size difference. Think of how the ant simply CAN NOT comprehend what the human comprehends. The ant can not SEE the vast area around him, yet the human has a larger view. Now think of the many ants that work to make a community, then comes along a disaster from some other creature, or nature. The ant(s) scurry around in all directions, yet the human (God in this case) can SEE how it all works together. Think of all the little ants crying out, HELP ME, HELP MY FAMILY, HELP MY FRIEND..... the Lord hears them all..... I am AMAZED when I consider it in these terms... it makes it somehow more tangible for me to comprehend.  (the Lord always reveals things to me in a child like way so i can understand).  I dont seem to get 'it' when it has lots of details and explainations.. a picture works much better for me.
ooopppss, getting off track here... yeah I do that too! haha

As I said earlier, He has been teaching me about His love. He is using the example of marriage.
He is the bridegroom and I am the bride.  When people are in love, they think of the other, they want to be near the other, they desire the other in their lives, to hear how they are, what they think, etc.
This IS how the Lord loves me. (and you too) He WANTS me to talk to Him. To depend on Him. Just a the wife depends on her husband for protection, provision, understanding, all that is 'love', including tenderness. These things also apply for men. For the born again man, is 'the bride of Christ' also.
We have a depiction of love and covenant with the Lord.  that we are His. We are the vine, not the plant. We do not survive if cut off from the source.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
think of it, He will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you. He is with you ALWAYS.  He is the bridegroom. In marriage it is 'till death do us part'.... There is NO DEATH in Christ Jesus! AMEN.

AMEN AND AMEN! I get so jazzed up thinking of that.  I have been married, and betrayed by my husband. It is a tender thing to think and REALIZE that the Lord speaks ONLY TRUTH, He can not lie. He has given His Word, (himself!) and will ALWAYS be with me desiring to spend time with me, that I would turn to Him, speak with Him, share all my thoughts and concerns with Him. TRUST HIM in ALL THINGS.   I praise God, The Lord is my husband! Thank you Lord for your loving kindness toward me and for never leaving me. For providing brothers and sisters~ what a family!
we bear each other, forgiving just as YOU forgave each of us. Lord lead and guide us.
Let our little community of 'ants' turn to you, knowing you see the other side of what ever situation each of us is in.... and knowing the day and time, each of us will see you in person. Thank you Lord.

Lord Jesus, I pray that each person that reads this is in someway blessed and would seek your face and to know you more intimately than ever before. Lord lead me. Amen

In His grace;
Kim
